A world class electronics company based near Fareham is looking to recruit a Production and repairs Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a small, highly focused and successful business which is part of a Group. The environment is settled and you will be managing a highly motivated, good quality team.

The Role
In this varied role you will be managing a team of 10 skilled production technicians and have responsibility for delivering customer orders on time to the right quality. Production is low volume, high value electromechanical assembly. Some of the specific responsibilities will include:
• Leading and motivating the production technicians
• Taking ownership for achieving production and delivery targets which will frequently require tenacity and creativity to overcome challenges
• Complete management of customer repairs which will involve co-ordinating with customer contacts, liaison with materials and overseeing production
• Focus on continuous improvement to develop processes and make the environment a safe as well as productive one
• Effective communication with senior managers to give feedback, to help the business understand root causes of issues and solutions.

The Ideal Candidate
The following are all important to demonstrate:
• Experience of leading a production team, ideally related to electromechanical assembly and RF test.
• Detailed knowledge of MRP and production/material planning techniques
• Embedded understanding of production improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma etc
• Strong communication skills
• Experience of customer exposure and management
• Enthusiasm to solve problems, identify route cause and improve the production process which will help increase KPI performance

To be considered for this role you would ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Electronics or Electromechanical engineering discipline. You must have a strong manufacturing background where you can show good examples of developing manufacturing processes, leading change and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of technical skills with good communication and leadership skills. You will need to demonstrate a driven and motivated personality. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and 8D is also desired.
